ah, well, that's not so small...is this the size in which you normally paint or will you use these as inspiration for larger work? for 100 days i print at 8x10, but will enlarge those images that deserve a bit more attention. i'm just curious as to your process here.
Yes for the summer, my studio is quite small, so I tend to work small. But when school starts up again, you bet that several of the 100 pieces will serve as inspiration for much larger pieces...I'm think almost 5 to 6 feet for some... As for process, I basically start with some collaged pieces and discover my composition through those pieces and then color usually comes from something I'd seen throughout the day. Thanks for you interest!!
that's interesting. i 'saw' your images as large. it's like they deserve that amount of room to breathe. again, really lovely work both in composition and your amazing use of color.
kevin, how large are your paintings?
ReplyDeleteLove this, the subtleties of the softer background for the sharp angles in the forefront. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you both! Billie they are quite small, about 7.5x9.5 inches...The color was a bit off on the photograph...less purple and more blue....thanks!
