An interest in time and the temporal landscape.

This elliptical space seems to be coming in and out of the work from my woodlands trip.  I found some inspiration during my trip to some green houses today.  The enclosed space within the landscape may become more prominent in coming works.

Capturing the essence of today.

So after a day filled with adventure and guiding a ropes course in the woods with the Friends Academy Sixth Graders, I found my landscape for day seven.  It was fascinating to be surrounded in this elliptical space created by nature.

Day 6

Little inspiration from my drive to New Bedford.  I'm finding the need to change the temperature of the paint.  Add a little warmth with the contrasting cool....  Maybe for the next one....

Watched the Planet Green Channel today and found some inspiration.

This whole process is so interesting.  Today was my first day back to work and somehow I was looking forward to getting back and working on today's piece.

Okay so I know, very different approach from yesterday.  But I just got my paints back!!  The ideas remain the same.  We shall see where this evolves.

Day 1

"Passage"

My series of 100 drawings and paintings will develop through the landscape.  These landscapes are conditioned by memory and are reconstructed and reinvented from life.  Landscape is a creative medium that allows for the iconic to become a personal, meditative space.  Compositionally, the roles of ground and atmosphere will be combined to explored the openness and variety of landscape.  I view the landscape as a transitional place, a space for observation and interaction.

One-Hundred Days 2011

Looking forward to participating for the first time in the One-Hundred Days 2011 Project.  We start May 21st so follow along each day after that and check out my art work this summer!
